When we first realised that there were so many more people who were thinking about the environment and the cleaning products they were using, we saw an opportunity to make a real and meaningful contribution. We also saw an opportunity to turn it into a conversation.

PROBAC has two main components. The primary active ingredients are varieties of living beneficial bacteria, which serve as an enzyme release mechanism when they come into contact with organic waste and dirt particles. The secondary ingredients are application specific ‘surfactants’ (Surface Active Agents) which are chemicals used for the removal of dirt off of surfaces, similar to that of ordinary chemicals. In PROBAC products however, these surfactants are ‘botanical’, which means they are plant- based, and fit the highest criteria of ‘Biodegradable’

The surfactants entering the composition of the PROBAC products are compliant with the biodegradability criteria laid down in Regulation (EC) 648/2004 on detergents. Secondary ingredients include free enzymes and nutrients to assist in activating bacteria, and food grade dye and parfum
The Probiotic and surfactants components are entirely compatible with each other, as they are with life. The surfactant component serves to stabilize the bacterial component and render them dormant in packaging for an extended shelf life greater than two years. The surfactants also break down and liquify organic dirt rendering it more accessible to the bacteria as ‘food’ for digesting (biodegrading), allowing for rapid complete removal of dirt by biodegradation (cleaning).

Finally, a highly symbiotic process occurs, in that the probiotics (bacteria) effectively biodegrade the surfactants as well, as the enzymes released are matched with the carbon substrate of the surfactant package. The end result is minimal transfer of organic dirt and chemical into the wastewater stream, which continues to biodegrade down the line. This is the ultimate zero impact cleaning technology.
PROBAC serves to leverage biological processes that already exist in nature and cleans by mimicking biodegradation. Once a PROBAC product is added to a system or sprayed on a surface, the beneficial bacteria probiotics transition from a state of dormancy (sleep), and activate. In the concentrate form, each PROBAC product has a bacterial value of 5.4 x 107 CFU (Colony Forming Units) per ml, or 540 million per milliliter. Once these bacteria come into contact with organic dirt in the form of fats, oils, grease, carbohydrates, proteins etc., an efficiency intelligence occurs where the various bacteria will release enzymes forming an enzyme substrate complex with the target waste molecules (substrate).

An inter-cellular reaction occurs converting the substrate into products (base micro-elements such as carbon, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen etc.), forming an enzyme products complex. The products (base elements) then leave the active site of the enzyme. They are no longer dirt particles and the surfaces or systems are rendered clean at a microscopic level. An additional benefit is the ongoing residual cleaning that occurs for days after the process of cleaning. The biological additives on the surface or in the system undergoing treatment, continue to survive and biodegrade recalcitrant dirt that may still be present and penetrates deep into the surface substrate at the micro- biofilm level. The level of cleaning achieved is unmatched with any traditional chemical except the harshest acids and solvents.
Most percieved odour, (90% of all odours) are produced by ordinary bacteria that produce a bad smell. Typically, body odour and refuse bin odour are caused by living bacteria as they go about their work. PROBAC beneficial bacteria used in specific product combinations are specifically selected for their by-product of ODOURLESS CARBON DIOXIDE that is produced in the course of their lifecycle when digesting organics dirt.

Simply and effectively, in a process that solves an age-old universal problem, PROBAC replaces odour-producing bacteria with non-odour-producing bacteria, while also effectively biodegrading the organic / dirt / source of the bad smell. Safe, natural, and extremely effective.
PROBAC does the work of disinfecting very effectively, except it does so from a purely biological method and perspective. When PROBAC bacteria is applied to a surface in the course of normal cleaning, the probiotics invade the field and take up all the space. The PROBAC probiotics demonstrably overwhelm and outcompete pathogens in the competition for space and food. This ‘competitive exclusion’ process is established science under Gause’s Law, which states that ‘two species of microorganism competing for the same resources cannot coexist, and the weaker strain will become extinct’. We ensure PROBAC probiotics are the stronger, more prolific microorganism in town. Recent testing in two Hospital sites, with comparative testing for Probiotic Cleaning versus Chlorinated Detergents/Disinfectants returned conclusive results of >80% reduction in HAI’s (Hospital Acquired Infection from Superbugs). PROBAC is not ‘Environmentally Friendly’ – it is ‘ENVIRONMENTALLY GOOD’. The terminology ‘Environmentally friendly’ has wide application in areas that sometimes denote ‘preferable’, therefore more ‘friendly’ in this, compared to that. It is difficult to compare PROBAC technology to the wishy-washy terminology of ‘Environmentally friendly’ as this would place it within an unrefined loose definition including a very wide spectrum of products with one benefit over the other, with PROBAC absolutely not belonging.

PROBAC, while using environmentally friendly and biodegradable components, achieves the end result of zero to positive impact on human health and environment, in a technology widely acknowledged in scientific circles as the world’s most advanced, and COMPATIBLE WITH LIFE.
PROBAC is perfectly safe and suitable for Septic Systems due to it being a biological based composition. PROBAC will serve to stabilize and optimise Septic Tank activity so that it works super efficiently, leveraging the biological process already underway. This is under the provisions that no chemical or bactricidal substances are added to the system.
